Welcome

Welcome to North Fenton Baptist Chapel, a place you will find nestled among the hollows and hills, in the hamlet of North Fenton New York. The place we gather in to worship on the Lord's day is not new to the North Fenton area but has had a history dating back decades. With the surrounding countryside, even to this day, being of an agricultural nature, it should be of no surprise the building's original function was that of a barn. More recently it served as a meeting place for the local Grange. Then just over twenty years ago, from a small group of Christ loving people, North Fenton Baptist Chapel was started.

When I think of this building's past, I can't help but to make "connections" between its three roles over the years. When it served as a barn it did what a barn does, it provided shelter and storage of sustenance to that which it housed. When it served as a meeting place for the Grange, it assumed a new role, that of a place of support for farmers and their families. In addition, it supported social causes they wished to have an impact on. Now as North Fenton Baptist, it serves as a gathering place for those who have trusted in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and yet, in a sense, hasn't ceased to serve in its old roles.

How so? Here you can find shelter, refuge and comfort from the storms of life, just as you can imagine a barn provides a safe haven. Just as a barn stores hay and grain for its animals, you too can find that life giving sustenance found nowhere else but in the living word of God, to feed your spirit and grow your heart into being more like Christ's heart. Just as the Grange was a meeting place for those farmers and their families, we too are a gathering place for like minded believers, a family of brothers and sisters in Christ. As the Grange had an impact on its community, we too desire to have an impact on our community, both small and wide, to share the love of Jesus, that "Good News" called the Gospel, how Jesus came for us, died for us, rose for us and is coming again for us.

So please take this as an open ended invite, to come and find out who we are, what we are about, and how you can join us in growing His kingdom.

Because of Him, Rodney K
