"Good News" Bus Outreach

      This is not your typical church bus ministry that one sees so many churches providing. This ministry is completely different and is just one small cog in a larger vision in reaching those who are near and far in need of the saving grace of Jesus. How is it different? The concept is about bringing the "Good News" about Jesus to the people not the people to our church building.

     As this evolves and more information is shared here please continue to pray the Lord's blessings on this revolutionary ministry for us and the places it will take each of us and those we meet.

Bus Timeline

July 10, 09       Bus Update:  Graphics are on the bus!! If you're in the area drive by and see, you can't miss it! Tomorrow is the maiden voyage, we will be in the parade and then parking at the celebration for others to see and a chance to talk to people. I'll try to remember my camera and post pics a.s.a.p. Also you might run into us as we ask some very important questions to people about salvation as we give away coupons for a free drink back at the bus and with those same coupons be in the drawing for a free Study Bible and maybe some other things too! It's not definite but there may even be some time we will have a chance under the Super Celebration Gospel Tent to share about Jesus between musical events.

June 25, 09      Aside for preparing ourselves for this ministry of reaching out to others we have been discussing graphics to be placed on the bus. Some salvation passages, the website address, etc. Also two opportunities have already come to us to "wet our feet" in this ministry. One will be at the "10th Colesville Super Celebration" ( www.colesvillesupercelebration.net ) on July 11th, being held in Harpursville, NY. We will have the chance to have the bus in a parade and then have it parked by other vendors and stands to share about who we are and of course share about the love of Jesus. Our 2nd opportunity is at "The First Ever Doraville Community Day"on July 25th. As these dates come closer and we prepare, be sure to check back for updates. Thank you for all the prayers.

June 19, 09      The bus has passed NYS inspection! Aside from other small repairs the bus should be back at the church this Friday and be ready to roll for the season.

May 29, 09       The bus is here! Thank you Lord!! Yesterday, Thursday evening, Pastor Clint and Duane brought the bus to the church from Duanesburg. Duane said it drove just fine. What happened to a Memorial Day delivery? Stumbling blocks being thrown up by the enemy. Pastor spent three days with the powers that be (Insurance company and the DMV) to get all the paperwork staightened out. So last night we had a W.O.W. meeting (Willing Outreach Workers) on the bus where the rest of us finally had a chance to check it out and it is going to be great.

May 22, 09       It's almost here! The bus was on its way from Rhode Island Tuesday morning when it broke down on I-88 and St Rt 20 in Duanesburg, NY about 100 miles Northeast of us.  By the time we arrived to where it had broken down the seller had arranged for a tow and a nearby garage to fix it, that was a such a blessing for us because we didn't have to deal with the headache of trying to find a tow company and where to service it. The driver, Malachi, who was provided by the seller was a good guy about the whole ordeal and Pastor was able to share Christ with him and gave him many things to think about. As of today, Friday, the bus has been repaired (blown turbo boost) and arrangements are in the making to possibly have it here on Monday, Memorial Day, the 25th.

May 15, '09      Recieved word that the bus repair has been completed. The repair involved putting in a new part (air cylinder) so the door would open and close properly when the driver pushes the door button/lever. Now we are just waiting for the final delivery details. Also, Pastor has shared with two other pastors in our immediate area about this ministry and they are both excited with helping and the potential impact this can have. Praise the Lord!

May 08, '09      Pastor was in contact today with the owner of the company responsible for selling the bus after several days of not recieving any return calls from the salesman. This fella assured Pastor that the part was in, a mechanic will be putting it in, and we should be seeing the bus this week. He also assured us that we are in good hands, he is on top of it, and doesn't want this delay to be a blemish on his business record. In all just a confirmation things are slowly proceeding and He is in control.

May 01, '09      The seller of the bus contacted Pastor Clint this past Monday (this was an answer to specific prayer that the seller would contact us) to inform him that the part needed to make the door functionable will be arriving from California this week. Please continue to pray for God's safety over the driver provided by the seller as he delivers the bus soon and for guidance in all our planning.
